I have a C4 S6, I think it is the gamma head unit, has a tepe deck and 10 disc changer in the trunk
the Bose are getting old want more oomph

remove speakers and cut the wires on the speaker its self and unscrew it glue or fiberglass in speakers the same size. thats it do not remove the amps the same ohm rating is a good idea but not necessary. i did this on a 92 100 with sucess but the old decks are junk the new symphony and symphony 2s are far more advanced than 98% of decks out there and so are the speakers to match but if you really want a good system and do change the head keep the in door boxes without them the sound is much flatter.

There are a lot of things that you can use to intergate aftermarket amps to your stock head unit. The one that I really like to use is from Audio Control. It is the DQL8 with the optional DDC. This piece is a digital processor and line driver as well. You have over 30 bands of eq and with the ddc you can have control of it from the drivers seat. The best things about the DQL8 is that you can store up to 8 different eq settings on it for when you want to change the type of music you wnat to listen too. I have installed alot of these things.

Works great and gives you a lot of control of your music.
