WHAT SPEAKERS DO I USE FOR MY NEW ALPINE HEAD UNIT?

I have recently had a new ALPINE 9812RR head unit installed in my 2003 A4 CABRIOLET. I have played about with the settings on the head unit which has improved but not given me the full range and beefy sound that I had expected from it.
Can anybody advise as to which speakers should be installed in my cabriolet to use this head unit to it's full potential as I am currently very dissapointed with the sound.
ps.. I am not looking to add a sub as i just don't have the space, so any other input from you guys would be appreciated, such as product codes etc...
thanks

I'd be wary running those speakers off that HU. I think they changed the front speakers on the A4 to 5 1/4 up front so anything that has about 20RMS should be good. Better off getting an AMP though and getting something better IMHO.

without a sub IMO.
Are you running the rears of the HU or via wiring adapter into the Audi rear amp.
I'd replace the rears, by pass the Audi amp, and run the new speakers off the HU (as you have considerably more power on the HU than the Audi 25w amp). Then replace the fronts with some quality components, but still the system will lack bass. There are some good stealth sub enclosures available for the A4 but not sure if these work on the cabrio. Personally I'd go for a removable box, for when you need the space. You have a sub pre-out on the Alpine so you can adjust the sub independently, shame not to use it.

you can probably do 6 1/2" components in the doors. you might also want to bypass the stock amp or replace it with an aftermarket unit (in which case i'd suggest getting a good 4 channel amp to power front and rear speakers). like the others said though, none of this will quite make up for not having a sub

If you want good sound with just deck power and without adding an amplifier, you need to get the speakers that have the highest sensitivity. The higher the better they will sound. My suggestions would be a POLK audio or an Infinity.
