Default i can't find that on their site, but 0.2 is usually for class D amps

more distortion from more power

Default It won't be a problem. Current opinions on the subject anymore is that...

anything below 5% on subwoofers is undetectable to the ear, and I would stay below 1% on components.

Default Are you speaking strictly in the car audio environment...

with quoting these distortion figures? I am not a huge fan of going extreme with SQ in a car because it is a wasted effort. But the ear can most certainly hear .1% distorition and lots of tests have proven it. IF the current 'opinion' is that the typical car environment (ie not an extreme SQ car) is swamping any distortion in your components up to 1% then I might will agree. Otherwise the current 'opinion is wrong'.

Also, the higher distortion figures for the class D isn't because it is higher power, it is due to the inherent nature of the design. I haven't quite kept up with D topology lately but last I checked a D was actual a D+AB hybrid in an effor tot get the distortion numbers down so people that know a little about audio wouldn't be put off by the poor distortion numbers (and so they would sound better, obviously)

Default Apparently, any environment...

This is a quote taken from the booklet included with my Sennheiser HD 580 headphones, which are quite respected in HT. "Results of various research projects state that a total harmonic distortion of 1% in the frequency range of 100 to 2000 Hz is imperceptible. Below 100 Hz the perceptibility threshold lies at 10%. The DIN Standards Committee made use of this data in the formulation of DIN 45 500 Part 10."

Default Perhaps I have been reading too many audiophile mags...

As a lot of those esoterics swear they can hear distortion as low as .1%. I found this quote on a quick search that falls more in line with what you have stated:

The RCA Radiotron Designers Handbook (27 collaborating engineers +). "Distortion becomes perceptible when the measured total harmonic distortion reaches the level of 0.7% for music, and 0.9% for speech, with a frequency range of 15khz and a pentode valve... The difference between pentode and triode is negligibly small." (actual listening test studies)
If distortion is present, even low order distortion, the music won't be right. So, in this case, specs do mean something.
