What's a good 8" subwoofer?
The rubber/foam surround on my RF Punch sub has ripped and I'd like to replace the whole speaker with something nicer...but still resonably priced.
The subwoofer needs to use very little air space to work well with my homemade box.

yes i've run (almost) exclusively elemental designs products in the past 2 years
and have been 100% happy with every single one.
i'd be weary of ebay sellers as you can almost get it direct from the source for around the same price.

what's the enclosure volume?
the Image Dynamics ID8 v3 is a great driver.
Sealed enclosure spec is .35 cubic feet.

Check out Avincar
I'm having an 8 inch sub of theirs installed as I write. Building a custom stealth enclosure. If you email Ken at Avincar, I'm sure he'd provide the specs for you. It's one of the few subs out there than is shallow and can take a smaller enclosure. Also having him install DLS UP6's in the front doors and A pillers, a Zapco DC360.4 amp, and Denison ice link. JL only makes a few 8" subs. The 8W0 which is not that great and 8W7.
The W7 is not exactly a small box woofer so I don't know if it'll fit in the enclosure. I would say the Elemental Designs is a good choice. Image Dynamics is also a good choice. Unfortunately, good 8" subs are not easy to come by nowadays. I've recently been trying to search for on that I can use in an infinite baffle installation but haven't found a lot of choices yet.
