add Infinity Basslink. You may also replace all factory spkrs with MB Quart or other high-end spkrs

Default probably not if you get decent subs + amp...

the Basslink is not bad but its for people who want a simple install and not a lot of bass

*edit* i've not heard the Basslink in person so I shouldn't judge it too quickly... i just doubt it can compete with a good pair of 10's.

No. It's just easier to install. You can surely get better bass from separates properly installed.

Default can the head unit effective power the MB Quart Speakers?

I believe the non-Bose Symphony head unit in both the A4 and A6 supplies 20 Watts for each speaker set up in the doors. Most of the MB Quart speakers that I have seen as "Audi compatible"
are rated for 60 watts and up. Will that still not leave a sound quality issue, without the addition of an amp (the head unit, I understand) is set up to receive one)? Otherwise, it seems like you will end up with a lot of clipping as soon as you try to crank it up. Not true?

Default NO!

MBQuarts do not sound good and can even be damaged using that low of wattage... If it was a very good quality amp you could get away with using 50watts a channel but you'll probably want closer to 100 if you're going to have subs to compete with.

Default Well, that's what I thought

A lot of people seem to opt out just for a straight speaker swap. But without doing something to boost the power, will just make things worse.
