XM / Delphi SKYFi installation?

I was wondering if it is possible to connect the Delphi SKYFi directly to my Nakamichi HU w/ aux inputs. I know this is possible with the Pioneer, yet I like the function and the look of the Delphi much better (not too mention $). The look / lighting match the Audi / Nak much better.

The Delphi has a 1/8" stereo (adjustable) line level output. It can drive either a low-fi cassette adapter or a better-fi 1/8" stereo to (2) RCA "Y" cable into aux inputs.
The Delphi is by far the best laid out & most intuitive display of the XM units I've seen, but beware: there is a widespread issue w/power line noise. The unit is powered by a 12v to 6v lighter plug adapter, and prone to ground loop and other irritating noise. If you do buy it, get a good return period to play with, and don't start any rebate stuff or activate the XM service until you have the noise plague beat.

XM Radio Delphi Sky-Fi Forum

The ground loop issue has nothing to do with power line noise. I installed a SKYFi in my '02 A6 (with a Blitzsafe aux in adapter to the stock Bose headunit), and got horrible background hiss.
Thinking (like you) that the power had something to do with it, I powered the SKYFi directly from a six-volt lantern battery. The hiss remained.
The issue is due to the SKYFi output circuitry. However, it can be fixed. I hit the local Best Buy, and picked up a $15 ground loop isolator from their installation department. Now the SKYFi sounds great!
