The XM signal here in New England at least in my case has gone into the toilet. XM says I have a problem with my antenna or unit. This may be true but I wanted to see if anyone else has noticed it. Drove to Boston yesterday and on the Mass Pike it was just awful...signal dropping out all over the place. Even in the greater Boston area!!!

Yes, I've experienced signal dropout in the Boston area....every day....at the same places. Most are on the Mass Pike and 495 and all of them are in wide open areas with no obvious mountains or structures that might block signals. That said, my Cingular service is worse...especially on the Pike where calls drop regularly.

When XM lost their arbitration case with Clear Channel about CC getting to run ads on the 4 music channels that CC programs for XM (XM had pulled the ads to compete with Sirius, and CC filed for arbitration), XM decided to have the same NUMBER of ad-free channels as Sirius, so they added 4 more ad-free music channels.
How did they fit them in? By further compressing the channels they already had.
This affects SQ, but NOT reception. It sounds like your antenna failed. We see this fairly often.
