Default HELP HELP HELP!!!!

Hi Guys,

Hoping someone can help me please!!! Just bought a 96 A4 2.6l auto.

1. Had it for 4 months & she overheats!! Just wanted to know if anyone else has this problem? Cause the coolants fine, theres no leaks or other tell-tale signs.

2. Where can i get ahold of engine info and layout? Im still trying to figure out where the thermostat is to check it!

3. Sometimes when i turn the engine off, i hear a hissing sound coming from the engine. Is this normal?

I know these might be stupid questions, but if i dont ask, i'll never know!!

Thanks in advance!

Cheers, Andy

Default I can help with one of your problems.

The hissing sound you are sometimes hearing when you turn the ignition off is the compressor after you have had the air conditioning on - absolutley normal and nothing to worry about.

Im not sure where the Thermostat is on a 2.6, but you should get it checked if its overheating.

And BTW... nice looking car :-)

Thanks for the info WORX A4.

Believe me, i'd take take ur car anyday!!

Only thing i've done to mine is the DTM kit and the 18's you see here. Besides that, shes slow and drives like a shopping kart!!! hahahahaaaa
Looks over practicality i suppose...paying through the nose for it now!

Let my GF drive it once...she reversed it out of the drive way..RF wheel went over kerb..total weight came down on the RF corner...

SMACK!! Kit was fine....but the right headlight assembly cracked....needless to say she never drives it again!!

Anyone else with info would be greatly appreciated!!!

Default Go to Doncaster Audi Service and speak to Paul Varga

He's a great bloke and wont rip you off. He is the only guy most of us here would allow to service our cars.

I agree Paul, I've had good dealings with him and he's more mod friendly than other dealers.

Thanks for the Info fellas!!!

Was tryin to locate one of those "Self-Maintenance" Books that are available for most locally available cars.....dont think there are any for Audi's though.....guess most people who can buy a new one wont do it themselves though.....except for you guys!!!
