Default Help! Q3 Outside temp -20c to + 48c from cold start, Coolant leaking and oil burning?

Hi there, I’ve got a 2013 Q3 S line, TFSI,
I noticed the coolant dropped suddenly over a week from maximum to well below minimum, heard a misfire when starting it in the morning.

Knowing a common issue in the Audi, I changed the coil packs with Bosch red tops, and topped up the coolant, and has all been sweet for a week.

I had a low engine oil diagnostic on the dash,
So I took it to my mechanic, and we also noticed the coolant was well below minimum again.

We put it up on the hoist and found a coolant leak underneath the thermostat unit, (so he says) it was goodyear, so they’re not Audi professionals.

As for the thermostat of notice in the last week from starting it up cold in Melbourne, it said the outside temperature was -20 and once the engine warmed up over 10 minutes it got to about 48°. It’s been doing this every day for the last week.

He topped up the engine oil, and told me I should go to an Audi dealer.. of course I know I’ll probably get screwed over heavily. If I do this. Any suggestions or any professional information which may help me would be greatly appreciated guys!
