Default Installed heat exchanger/oil cooler

It failed two weeks ago, which left oil in my coolant and I assume coolant in my oil. No so good.

Sorry no pics, but here is what I did.

Drained Oil and Coolant system

Refilled Oil with cheapo oil, refilled coolant system with a coolant flush and water.

Ran the car for 20 minutes

Drained the oil and coolant.

Refilled oil with Shell Synthetic, refilled the coolant system with water.

Realised I didn't drain the entire water system (forgot the water pump bolt), redrained the coolant system, fully this time.

Refilled the coolant system (water again, I didn't have any green coolant).

All done.

Car runs fine, there is still a little bit of oil in the coolant system, but I plan on draining the water again this weekend and filling with proper green coolant. (I dont think running water instead of coolant for a week will harm the car too much)

Total cost:
$180 for Oil cooler
$50 for Oil
$6 for filter
$Free water
$20 for new coolant (not put in yet)

Not to bad, when it happened I though it was catastrophic!

Now back on the road!
