How does detailing work with the 3M film covering part of the sheet metal? Do you gradually see a differential in depth and clarity of the finish. Does the film become scratched and cloudy while the uncovered paint maintains a scatch-free, deep appearance (presuming appropriate detailing techniques)?

it wont look the same but the film itself needs swirl remover at times but be gentle, I polish and wax the films all by hand and it looks perfect in the end. Of course you can still see the difference up close but take a few step back and it will match pretty good if the bra job is done correctly.

Ensure that there are no surface imperfections before installation. Clean and maintain its surface with Z-8 Grand Finaleâ,,˘ Spray Seal) or a plastic cleaner (Plexus® Plastic Cleaner, Protectant and Polish) start at the centre and work outwards, do not use a foam pad / rotary buffer / abrasive compound on the plastic surface. Tape the edges of the auto mask when polishing the vehicles paint.
Note: if the film is properly applied to a fully cured painted vehicle, it can be removed, usually in one piece, without damaging the paint surfaces beneath the film.
