Default 3M rubbing compound differences?

So I have a few spots where there's a few minor scratches, that Menzerna IP w/CMA Orange pad barely effect, and I'm looking at moving up a notch or two in cut/abrasiveness.

Anybody have any experience with the various 3M compounds? Specifically looking at:

Perfect It II Rubbing Compound - fine cut 39002
Perfect It III Rubbing Compound 05933
Imperial Microfinishing Rubbing Compound 39001
SuperDuty Rubbing Compound 39004

others? (3M SMR doesn't do squat either) Doesn't need to neccessarily be 3M, but I've liked their stuff so far, and I don't see the next step up in Menzerna products.

Default I was wondering the same thing

I'm going to try and find 3m Rubbing Compund tomorrow. Yeah,I know the 3M swirl remover is barely effective. If you find out anything else that works for you please let us know.

Default did a little research

The Menzerna IP gets rid of 2000 grade scratches. The 39002 and 39001 get rid of 1200 grade scratches. I'm not quite sure of the difference between 39002 and 39001; when I called 3m (very helpful folk, no wait time), he couldn't quite tell what the diff was either, except 39001 (the Imperial Microfinishing Rubbing Compound) is an older version of 39002 (Perfect It II Rubbing Compound - fine cut). When I tried describing the scratches from memory, he suggested I try 39004, but that sounded a bit too aggressive for me (yeah, so I'm a little chicken to use that yet), with a 1000 rating. He assured me it's clearcoat safe, and he actually used it recently on his Explorer to get off some paint/scratches from another car.

I've ordered the 39002, will see how that goes in a week or two.

Default I just got the 39002 a few minutes ago...

The Perfect It II Rubbing Compound Fine Cut, Pep Boys around here has it although I chose to get it at a smaller parts store, a little cheaper, and a far better selection. I think this will do the trick if Menzerna can't, recently got Menzerna IP and FP too, experimented only a little with them. Yeah, I just read on the bottle the 39002 removes 1200 grade scratches.

I'm all ready to try all these products now and its raining! I don't have to use them yet on my A4 but I also have a 93 Maxima that looks real shiny but has those annoying little scrathces inevitable with as black car.
I'll update how I made out using the 39002 and FP too.
