Depends on where you live..
some places (like alot of central and eastern states) have naturally soft water..
Here we have some of the hardest water known to man... the mineral content is mind blowing!!!! Thats why I never drink the stuff!

my college uses recycled waste water for the lawns
which leaves the most hideous residue ever. It smells horrible when the sprinklers are on, too. I still have a couple spots on my trunklid that I've never been able to get off, even with vinegar or menzerna.

haha, yeah.. walking across a quad at night if you hear the hiss of the sprinklers starting up
and have about 10 seconds to sprint away before all your clothes smell like poo
