Are all New Audi's Base Coat Clear Coat?
My mother bought a new 07 A4 Brilliant Red. It has a few scratches and smudges on the trunk lid, people closing it in the showroom with rings on there hands!! Normally clear coat scratches would be white? These are red. Does this car have a clear coat finish? I buffed on them by hand with some haze/scratch remover but need to try something a little harsher. Any advice?

In the past Audi's laser red didn't have a layer of clear on top...
not certain about the paint used on the B6's and B7's though (my comment applies to the B5's). Obviously if the paint code is the same, you have your answer. Some searching of the archives in various forums might confirm what the various paint codes were.
