Default Anyone tried a paint pen from autovisuals.com yet?

Wanting to know if I would have better luck with one of these than with touch up paint from the dealership. Thanks

Default I have. The paint was good but I wasn't impressed with the pen idea. I tried to fix a scratch but

so called fine tip was way to big. I'm going to buy some dealers touch up paint and use my wife's caligraphy pens. I wish I thought of this sooner.

Default That's what I was afraid of..

I like your idea about the caligraphy pens. I will have to try that. Thanks

Does the dealers touch up paint require a separate clear coat application? I liked the paint pen's idea of using a separate pen for clear coat. I have a couple of chips that I don't trust the dealer to fix, and want to do it myself. I think I now know enough to get it looking fairly unoticeable, but don't know which touch up paint to use. Thanks for any help folks.

Default I've used it.

Touch-up paint from the dealer is basically the same paint you'l get with the pen. It's how you apply it that makes all the difference. If you decide to get touch-up paint from the dealer, definitely do NOT use the brush that comes in the bottle. Read the article at carcareonline.com about fixing paint chips, use their toothpick method, and adapt the instructions to your own level of detail. FYI, the Audi touch-up kit comes with one bottle of pigment and one of clearcoat. But read what I had to say about the pen too; I think it works very well, as along as you don't have unrealistic expectations.

https://forums.audiworld.com/detail/msgs/6897.phtml</a

Ya, a toothpick works. I think a caligraphy pen might be better. Gotta play with it first.

Yep I like it - perfect for filling in stone chips, although scratches doesn't work as good
