After STFA'ing, I decided to try barkeepers friend with steel wool on my windows to get rid of the spots on them. Since the spots were all over the windows (pretty much 100% coverage), I scrubbed the entire window down. The windows are 18 years old and looked pretty bad beforehand, now they're just horrendous. The steel wool left so many scratches that now the windows just look hazy, like there's a thin white film over the whole thing. It seemed to help remove the spots, but the haze and millions of swirl mark scratches that are there now look much worse. Is there anything I can do -- any way to polish the glass and clear it up? Or do I need to be looking for a new set of windows?

Which grade of steel wool did you use?

No need for the steel wool....BKF and a rag would have done it...New windows for you...

What are you supposed to use?
