Black metal window trim. What to use?
I SFTA'ed, but did not find a post that addressed this particular item. What does everyone use to polish or wax the flat black metal pillar between the windows (on an A4)? I've been using 303 on the rubber trim and it works great, but I'm not sure what to do with the flat black metal. Polish/wax seems inappropriate since the finish is flat. Or is my car old enough that what looks flat to me was originally glossy? (It's a 1998.5; I bought it recently.)

Look down a few threads for "AIO and B pillar". I tried Mother's Back to Black on them once and was
disappointed. I pretty much just leave them alone. Once in a blue moon I may hit them with 1 Grand ERV if I am doing the lower black plastic trim. Usually I just wash and leave them flat.
You may want to try a better rubber treatment every once in awhile too like Wurth rubber treatment. 303 is fine but it doesn't rejuvenate, etc., etc.

That other thread concerned a glossy black B pillar. Older ones are flat black.
My wife's wagon has the flat black B pillar; I don't do anything to protect it, and it doesn't seem any the worse for the neglect. My 99.5 A4 B pillar is glossy. When I start noticing little scratches marring it I hit it with Omega Glaze and some wax. Shines it right up.
