Boat/gelcoat question: Dad's been thinking about using Zaino on his boat. Any comments/suggestions?

Presumably normal surface prep applies?
Anyone have experience with boats specifically? Is Zaino maybe not the best option for a reason I may be overlooking?
Thanks in advance!

Klasse isn't a bad second option. I'm inclined to think that any wax won't last as long due to the salt from the ocean, so either heavy coats or waxing often is probably a good bet.

YachtBrite...www.yachtbrite.com -- keep in mind that even though you want a boat to have a good coat of wax on it, you need to be careful so it doesn't become dangerously slippery.

I asked Sal Zaino this question, and he said I could use Z3(the non-clearcoat polish), so I started using it on my boat's Gelcoat. I get comments on how new it looks still (it's a '95 Sea Ray 185 Bowrider). Now granted, I only go in fresh water, and I trailer it and it's in the garage when not in use now(the first 3 yrs I owned it, it was always outside, except for the winter), but I do take it out from 5-40 times a summer (depending on the weather), so that's from maybe 20-200 hrs a yr in the water, with the sun beating on it. I usually apply it once a season, if I'm out a lot, twice. But, I apply it both to the top and bottom, and I think it has kept my gelcoat from oxidizing. It is slippery when wet, but the places where folks are going to be walking, usually have anti-slip stuff in those areas and I don't use it there. And it's great seeing the water bead up on it, especially on the outside below the splash rail. I'm not sure how it would react in salt water, but I have to think it's going to be as good, but maybe would need more applications per year.
