Can I use Menzerna polish on a clear coat rim if applied by hand?

I just bought a new set of rims with a little surface scratching in an area and wondered if I applied the Menzerna polish by hand if it would help. Thanks.

I had the wheels stripped and the centers powder coated last year.
This past summer I left the car at the dealer for an ABS Module and they drizzled brke fluid all over the wheels...The stains were heart breakening and left the surface of the PC feeling porous and obviously damaged.
I treated it exactly as I would treat a stain in paint. Menzerna IP, then FP. The stains are gone and the surface of the PC is uber smooth. I finished with wax and Rejex on the lips.
Treat your clear coated wheels exactly the same way.
