Default Can someone please answer 2 questions about doing the clay bar thing.....

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/15643/35mm1.jpg"></center><p>I am going to wash this car with dawn grease cutter dish soap 1st.

Do I clay bar the "entire car" or just "problem areas"???

After I clay bar, should I wash with dawn again before I wax, or just go straight to waxing???

thanks.

Default Re: ANSWERS.....

1) CLAYBAR the WHOLE car.
2) Wash car again.

Just a side note.....ALTHOUGH some people use DAWN to strip old wax...some people say it MIGHT not be good for your paint...as it MAY dull the color and they say CLAYBARRING the car already removes OLD wax....(THIS IS JUST WHAT I HAVE HEARD FROM A COUPLE DIFFERENT PEOPLE). Wether it is true or not I do not know. So that is why I stick with just normal car soap to wash and then I claybar the whole car and then I wash again.

Use diluted car wash soap as clay lube, rinse as you go, and you can totally skip the "wash again".

Default I don't see a need to wash afterwards

If you use a quick detailer product as the lubricant and you wipe off the excess with a towel when done claying an area, what is going to be left on the paint that would require another wash?

Dawn won't dull the paint, get serious. Don't believe everything you read.
