Default I came home once back in '99 and caught

the wife washing the car (Alero) with Murphy's Oil Soap.

I was like WTF? Why not use dish detergent if you were really jammed up?, and she was like "why? does it matter?"

Long story short, If I hadn't seen it I wouldnt have known. The car was not fussed over all that much and frankly it looked clean.

No idea what long term problems stuff like this may cause.

where many folks have cleaning ladies, it's not uncommon to see one in the driveway with a semi-disgusted look on her face, washing the family car with whatever cleaning product was nearby, in direct sunlight, with paper towels. Obviously she was told it was time to wash the car.

It's not their fault, it's just that no one cares how the car gets clean and no one understands that you have to use the proper soap.

my ex-landlord washing his car with Soft Scrub. I absolutely kid you not.
