Dumb Q: to take off wax, do I have to use Dawn soap or any dishwashing soap?

No, you don't have to, you can use a paint cleaner like P21S, Pinnacle, Meguiars, etc. However Dawn will remove the wax also.

For some reason Dawn is always touted as the strongest, just to be sure I got this
