My "professional detailer" says he can get everything out no problem, but I am kinda worried what he will use or do to my clear coat. I use a cleaner and then a wax and the scratches come back in a few weeks. I have all the equipment and would like to do it myself, but I'm not sure what to do.

In order to remove swirls and scratches, you need to use an abrasive polish to level out the clear coat. Read over our polishing guide for a more depth understanding on what happens during the process and how to properly tackle removing imperfections yourself.
