I currently use the Glanz on both my Audi's (see sig for colors).

Would the metallic polish provide either more protection or more shine/pop than the glanz? or should I just stick with the Glanz...

it does yield great results and good protection. i question too, why the heck do I need another step? i add Glanz on top to add for some extra durability and protection (easy get 3-4+ months outside with weekly washing).

There are 2 to keep in mind
Metallic Polish (just a straight polish, you need to add protection like Glanz)

and

Metallic Polish/Wax. It is a polish and wax combo. This can be the final result if you like it. It does leave a good finish and shine. I like to add Glanz.

Great product, and I have just received two sample bottles of the Ultra Paint Polish (or Extra whichever name you prefer) and the Paint Polish. I think you would like to 'better' your current results polishing with the 1z system is a better step then using the all in one product like the Metallic Polish.

Yeah - I know you can't layer the Glanz, which is fine. I don't need any more steps :-) in the process. Just want to make sure I'm doing the best I can for new paint... and with winter coming.... the salt and road crap will of course only get worse.

Can you use the 1z Metallic Polish/Wax and Glanz wax with a PC 7424?

you can apply MP/W with PC with no problem. Glanz you apply by hand.

I don't know if it made a heck of a difference, but last a long time (6 months winter outside).
