Default How do I safely remove pine sap?

My wife's parking spot at work is near a pine tree cluster and w/the windy days we've been having, the A6 is now covered. What's a safe way to remove them from the body, glass and trim? It seems to have dripped and spread across the different surfaces.

And please no comments about the parking situation. It's a sore subject around my house. She's about 2 steps away from losing the A6 back to me and then getting herself a minivan.

Rubbing alcohol (the stuff you have in your medicine cabinet). Works like a charm.

Default Re: Tarminator, or

Stoner makes (or perhaps made) a spray called Xenit which was more like Goo Gone. I used it recently on some graffiti on traffic signs and it works just fine for that.

Default I tried a 3M brand adhesive/glue remover. It worked, but left white-ish rings in some spots.

I was hoping to avoid having to do an additional step, like now having to remove those rings.

Default xenit is a citrus cleaner; much less harsh than tarminator ...

but also a lot less likely to work. i usually try it before going to tarminator, and i'm usually disappointed.

I've seen rubbing alcohol used on pine sap (exactly) and it works wonders. Cheap as all get out too

Default Thanks, Tom. I'll give that a try tonight. I cringe every time that I see it on there.

and I can almost hear it eating away at the finish and paint.

Default No worries. If you've also got Goo Gone, give it a go (anything Troy says is worth a try). G'luck.

Report back on which works better if you try both. I LOVE not having to go and buy yet ANOTHER detailing product.
