Do you use it to CLEAN the dash, or just protect it. If only for protection, what do you use to actually clean it?

Some use a damp cloth, others use cleaners, I personally don't use any protectants inside . . .

and am kind of sorry I did since I didn't really want a shiny dashboard. I have been using a warm damp cloth ever since hoping the shine would go away, but so far it has not.

It is a protectant, not a cleaner. Just rub it in well with a cloth and you get a nice matte finish, not shiny or greasy like Vinylex.

...it will clean to a degree. Any type of liquid product, be it supposed to be a cleaner or not, will clean anything. Take a damp rag and it will clean to a degree. Use armour all and it will clean to a degree, use 303 and it will clean to a degree. The nature of a wet "something" being wiped across the dash will cause the "something" to pick up dirt, as well as just smere it around.

seriously, most of the weekly cleaning can be handled by wiping down all surfaces with a damp cloth.
