like to remove them myself instead of takeing it back to the car wash so they can add more. Included with the swirl marks are some bird dropping spots. What should I use to remove the marks? I dont mind spending some time on this i just want it to look good. Do i need to use a cleaner a clay bar then wax? Any advice would help.

bird spots are still visible, you'll have to use something a little more agressive, such as 3M swirl mark remover or perhaps try their Finesse-It II line. Regardless of what's required to get the finish the way you want, protect your work with a good wax like One Grand Blitz when you're done.

The GEPC is going to remove all the oils you put on your car from IHG. IHG does have some solvents, but its not as abrasive as GEPC. GEPC should be used to remove oxidation, swirls, etc, IHG should be used for its oils.
Personally, I don't think either product is enough to remove most swirls.. especially on a black car.
3M Finesse it II, follow by 3M Swirl Mark Remover almost always gets the job done. The results are much better when applied with a high speed buffer, as the abbrasive in FI-II need alot of heat and friction to brake them down. As the abbrasive break down, they become less and less abbrasive, leaving the finish with out any hazing.

use the least aggressive products first. If you can remove them with 3M Swirl Remover, then do so. Follow up with a good wax like P21S.
A black car shows every little imperfection unlike a white one. When you use abrasive products, you may actually put more scratches in the paint when you apply by hand. Your hand just can not heat up the paint like a polisher can. This is what an orbital polisher is good for -- paint correction.
If you can not remove the swirls with the Swirl Remover, you can try 3M Fine Cut Cleaner before using the Swirl Remover. Then follow up with an excellent wax.
Now, if you can not remove the swirls with the above methods, use an orbital polisher or contact a professional detailer.

Finish Restorer into the 3M IHG, then do straight glaze, GEPC, and Blitz. Really the best you can do. Also, if it doesn't hid it completely the first time, give it a week and repeat. It will improve over time. And as always, use different applicators and a clean part of the towel for each step so you don't end up stripping the wax off by using a part of the towel that has hand glaze on it.

P21S Multi Surface Finish Restorer

Why strip all of the oils that IHG put down?
GEPC is a paint cleaner, IHG is a glaze.
Glazes put oils on the paint, Paint Cleaner removes everything off the paint.
Its like waxing then using GEPC! =)

...it sounds like GEPC may actually be a polish and glaze in one. See link to one of my previous posts which pretty much sums up my thinking/speculation on the subject.

GEPC -> Glaze or Glaze -> GEPC or....
