Default Ask the body shop

it probably varies depending on the quality/quantity of paint, clearcoat, how long they baked it, etc.

Default Freshly painted parts...2-3 mos. wash/IHG only.

The rest of the car can be clayed/waxed whenever you want.

Default I think you meant 2-3 months wash/IHG only?

Its no waxing freshly painted parts right? Or can you wax them but just not use abrasives on them?

Default I just got my car back from the body shop too.....

They said wait 45 days to wax and/or clay any newly painted surfaces. Paint cures from the outside in, so even though the outside may appear hard and ready to take wax, etc, the inside is still soft and is releasing gases as it cures.

Don't be impatient!

It is OK to wash all surfaces, and you can obviously clay & wax any surfaces that were not painted.

P.S. You should also wait 45 days if you are replacing any Stongard (3M protection film)
