Interior Cleaning:
Experts or experienced detailers out there:
I own a 2002 A4 1.8T Quattro and am pretty picky on how I keep my Audi, both mechanically and aesthetically. My interior color is a light beige and a very light grey combination. Throughout the years I've had dirt build up, smudges, spots, etc. all contributed by mechanics and my wife and son and I've been able to clean the vinyl but have the hardest time cleaning the cloth headliner and pillar trims.
The other day, it was a beautiful sunny day and I looked up and back and my pillars and headliner were filthy. Are there any solid suggestions on how to clean these awkward locations? I was thinking some Folex spot remover/cleaner and multiple clean towels to blot? I mean for a car I thought was pristine at its ag, I felt pretty ghetto after seeing the interior roof. Detailer gods, please help!

I've used Folex on spots - pretty good product - used on carpets it's pretty unbeatable. Use as little as possible & spray on a clean cloth first to apply. You should also try just plain water before using a solvent/cleaner. A risk with headliners is you'll shrink the fabric and it will pull away from the headliner backer, or the cleaner will act as a solvent on the glue that holds the fabric to the backer.

telekenetic, good advice in regards to solvents on the headliner backer, I'll use the Folex very sparingly. Thanks!
gabe74gt, are you joking, "use some acid with diluter"!?! What is "some acid"???

You *should* be ok with Folex as long as you do not saturate the headliner. Maybe one spray per 12"x12" area. I usually use a foaming areosol cleaner partnered with a very soft bristled brush and get excellent results. Be sure to have a microfiber to blot the section dry.

Thanks wfedwar,
I was asking the same question. There's always one person out there without maturity or common sense.
WaxWurx,
Thank you for the confirmation as well!
