Default A little rotary buffer ****.

Just picked this piece up for myself. Its been awhile since i have used one but in many aspects its like riding a bicycle, I am however going to start back on the lowest speed (1000 rpms) and take my time. No one likes splatter or paint burns. I am gonna couple it with the meguiars foam polishing pads and probably pick up a meguiars softwool cutting pad also (though it will likely be used very little its good to have). I have been using their stuff with my PC7336SP and really really like them. (have used many other kinds these are my fav thus far. I am doing a car next week with it that has been cared for poorly so i will post up some before and afters of the makeover. It has been keyed so i am not sure that i can make it 100% but anything is better then its current state i suppose.

Specs

Features: Powerful, 8.0 Amp, all ball-bearing construction for long life
Electronic module maintains specified speed even under load
Conveniently-located variable speed dial lets user set maximum speed from 1,000 to 3,000 for different materials and applications
Variable speed trigger allows user to instantly control speed from 0 to dialed setting
Heat-treated, precision-cut gears for smooth operation
External brush caps for easy servicing
Spindle lock for easy pad changing

Default i just detailed a black WRX it came out pretty good considering the "canvas" i was working with

the car had been keyed very badly so i couldnt fix that, but it also hadnt been so much as polished or even clay barred in the 3 1/2 years the owner had it. In the last year it has been washed maybe twice. With that said, I have an ungodly amount of products. I have everything from meguiars professional detailing stuff to P21S. I was going to purchase a Wool cutting pad and go with 8" pads but decided that for what i do it wouldnt be necessary. So i got the 6.5" meguiars backing plate for the rotary and some more of their polishing pads. Also got some of the dual action cleaner polish (#83) because i have read it has fantastic results and man does it ever.

for the WRX i just did, here were the steps that i took

clayed with fine grade clay magic.

hit trouble spots with rotary using megs DACP #83 with a yellow polishing pad.

hit the rest of the car with a 3M finesse-it machine polish using my DA

for the really blemmed spots i went over it again with the megs DACP #83 to really make it shine.

then i used a yellow liquid carnauba to wax it.

the pics are from when i was doing steps 2 and 3.

yes i know there is wax dust, its all gone now.

this is what it looked like when i started.

and after the wash.

mmm claybar...

i need to take some more pics in the sun but i couldnt get my flash to grab any spiderwebs. i am pretty sure they are gone.

Default It looks good get it in the sun and look at the spots you hit with the rotary.

You may need to hit those spots again with the rotary with the lightest compound you have. Then use your da with a heaver coumpound then again with a light polish, finishing with wax. Black sucks and will show buffer marks. Especially when some of the wax wears off.

Default i already did. it came out fine with the exception of one side of the roof that had very light

swirls. it took all of 10 mins to get them out. i pulled the car out and it didnt have buffer marks at all before i put the wax on, it looked even better once i put them on.
