I can't afford to scratch another instrument cluster, I already replaced one cluster due to my perfection phobia, I had little microscopic scratches using Sunglass cleaner and a microfiber, will it happen with Plexus also? The scracthes Im refering to are like swirl marks, little scratches in the plastic when you go under the sun, its annoying as hell!

Default I scratched mine using a soft cotton polishing cloth and plexus.

You can't see the swirls, unless the sun hits it...then whammo! I don't have any foolproof suggestions for you.

Default I think those swirls are there when the car leaves the factory.

I swear, there's no avoiding them. I just use a damp microfiber and wipe very lightly. I don't have any recommendation for a particular brand.

Default I have an old bottle of Plexus Polish- - ->

not the cleaner, well, I have that as well, but the polish is an ultra fine jewelers buff. Like super diluted Final Polish.

I used a terry cloth and a dab of the polish and the scratches are gone.

I bought at an aquarium supply house. It is used to polish acrylic fish tanks.

Regular Plexus is fine in between.

Default What about using that "air in a can" stuff used for cleaning cameras, keyboards, etc.?

I haven't tried this yet but have been meaning to get a can of compressed air. I think any good camera or electronics store should have it. Give the cluster a good squirt (of air) to get rid of any larger (dust) particles *then* use a micro-fibre cloth and polish if needed.

I have not figured out a way to avoid tiny scratches even with the softess of cloths.
