I'm new to this board and really find a lot of really useful infomation but I've noticed the subject of Simple Green seems to come up quite often.
I'm an engineer working in Naval Aviation and Simple Green has been proven to be corrosive to aluminum alloys used on aircraft. It has also been shown to cause hydrogen embrittlement of high strength steel alloys. The Navy, Air Force, and Army have all banned this stuff for use on their aircraft because of the corrosive effects on Aluminum. Simple green does not meet the Military Specification for aircraft cleaning. I'm not saying that this stuff will definitely cause your aluminum parts to corrode, but to me it's just not worth it to find out.
Thanks for your time.<ul><li><a href="http://www.avweb.com/newswire/news0020b.html">AvWeb article with link to USAF study</a></li></ul>
