Is it okay to apply polish like the P21S Paintwork Cleanser without stripping wax first?

would it be a waste and pointless?

The P21S should remove all traces of wax from your car.

Polish will remove any wax left on the car, so stripping separately is unnecessary.

It's probably ok, but just wash with Dawn before to be sure.
