What is the best way to deal with minor paint chips on my aluminium bonnet. The paint is silver metalic and am not sure if normal paints etc. will damage aluminium. Also 'blobbing' paint into the holes will look nasty. So any ideas?

Also i have a small ammount of peeling laquer at the bottom of one door, is there a way of stopping it from spreading and chipping further. I was once told to use womens clear nail varnish and seal the edges but this sounds like a joke. Again any ideas?

Chip repair shouldn't be any different. Lots of other Audis with aluminum hoods.
