I have a kerscher front bumper, i believe that its some fiberglass compound... had it less then a year but its totally torn up w/ rock chips..
so i dunno if maybe the paintjob i had was not so great, or if paint just doesnt hold up well on fg in general.
my oem bumper had years on it and the rock chips are less then 1/2 of what my kersher bumper looks now.
so anyways, im going to respray the bumper, but im still wondering if its paint quality issue or just the fg..
probably gonna get a clear bra after that as well...

these guys can give you the low down on fiberglass bodies and what type of agents are needed in order for these pieces to bond to the paint. They charge more, but they do a better job. For an entire bumper, I would definately pay the extra money to get it painted properly
I got my a4 rear valence, front valence, m3 spoiler, caracter sides, moldings, and fixup on the bumper all painted for $475.
They even told me before hand the valence might chip because of the rubber. Since quality wasn't too big of an issue because of the size of these parts, I told them to go ahead and paint it.
They did a pretty good job.
If all fiberglass was horrible, these companies wouldn't sell it, even as cheap as it is.
Personally, I think the kerscher bumper is one of nicest ones I've seen on the a4. Add in the splitter and I'm in love.
