PepBoy's has soooo much good detailing stuff
i just visited my local pepboys and i was pleasantly surprized. the one near me has a full compliment of deatiling supplies. the full meguire's line, mf towels, clay bar, etc. i couldn't believe it. others around me don't have squat. strange from a big chain.

Don't get MF towels from PepBoys! They quality is crap compared to what you can get from
either yosteve.com or Microfiber Tech. Also, the clay bar they sell is proably Meguiar's or Mothers, unless they sell Clay Magic (I know AutoZone does). I've used all three and Clay Magic is by far the best.

Yeah, I did...they didn't have any.
I've been back to this particular store several times, and no luck...I think they are the only one that doesn't have clay magic. I'm in no hurry though...I still have a bar from griots and a bar from Zaino to try....

Just curous, how do you determine MF towel quality?
Is it more of a subjective process or can you actually look at it and tell like a nice oriental rug. I'm curious since it's becoming quite the fad out there now.
So far, I've stuck to 3M MF towels only.

It's pretty subjective, but there are extremes, and you can clearly look at the crap
and tells it's more akin to burlap than a fine oriental rug. The stuff I've seen in pep boys (marketed under some generic name) is crap. The best you can do is use the feedback on this forum to pick a good towel out.
Yo Steve (forgot the website address)
Microfibertech.com
neatitems.com
viper MF towels (www.properautocare.com)
griots.com (these tend to shed lint though...otherwise very good)
I'll tell you right now...I won't be able to differentiate quality among the brands listed...and frankly, if you're dealing with a known entity, you should be fine. The brands mentioned above are all quality names.
