Default Problem with microfiber wash mit....

The problem is that all the little crap from trees and plants and stuff that finds its way onto my car or into my garage gets stuck in the wash mitt fibers. And I mean REALLY stuck. I have to literally rip them out and it's all most impossible to get everything out of it especially while you are washing and I'm afraid it's going to scratch my paint. Running it throught the washing machine doesn't remove these particles either. Anyone else have this problem? I'm thinking of going back to my lambs wool wash mitt.

Default I've found that the MF mitt sucks for washing for the reasons that you noticed...

Stick with the sheepskin mitts from Wal-Mart or Targer ($5 - $7) for washing. I have found that the MF mitts rock for dusting the interior though.

Good idea! Just saw the MF mitt recently. I had been keeping an MF towel in the car.

I use the sheep skin mitts available at Target/Wal-Mart - they tend to stay clean.

Default This is the way to go, sheep skin mitt at Wal-Mart for $5. They last me ~6 months, then they're

retired to wheels/lowers duty.

Default Troy, have you ever tried the Griot's wash mitt, more like a terry cloth towel that goes over your

hand. Curious how this compares to the sheeps skin wash mitt. I have to admit, for someone into detailing, I've always just used your average car wash sponge as I think that the "grit" stays on the surface and if you rinse the sponge often, it won't get stuck in the surface like DennisA4 was describing with the microfiber mitt. But now, am thinking of trying something more gentle that will trap the dirt and pull it away from the car rather than slide it around. Not interested in trying the Boars Hair Brush as LI-S4 has concluded that this is definitely what has been scratching his paint.

I only use boar's hair brush to remove snow in winter.
