Question came up recently...here is a close-up of the 3M Spray on Clear Bra--->
about as good a picture as one can take of clear coat...
Typical spray of the color coat and crystal top coat, then another coat of the two part Clear Bra clear. Once it dries it is resilient enough to withstand a thumbnail pressed into it..

No, it doesn't come off..essentially another clear coat...link inside- ->
