Default questions about Audi paint and Langka (I STFAed)

1. I was trying to get the 04 brilliant black (BB)touch-up paint from my dealership, and they told me that there is no clear-coat that comes with BB finish, but there are clear coat bottles for other colors, such as the metallic ones. Do I purchase the BB touchup and get the clear coat for other color? Or in fact BB does not "need" a clear coat?

2. After I apply the BB touch-up paint on my chip, I plan to let it dry for days. Unfortunately my car is a beater car, so I doubt there will be dusts and other contaminations on the newly applied paint, what do I do to clean it, or do I just apply Langka Blob Eliminator right away?

3. Do I use 3M SMR to remove foreign paints in my chip? I don't want to use compounds yet because of its abrasive ingredients will dullify my finish.

I will post my Langka results with photoes next week.

thanks in advance.

Default Dealer paint...

I just went to my Audi dealer and bought a Brilliant Black touch up kit for my 01.5 S4. It came with 2 little nail-polish bottles, one black, and one clear. And with the quattro club discount was under $4. Cheapest thing at the dealer!

As for your Langka question, I'm curious too because I have a chip on my hood near my grill and was going to tackle this soon.

Default Langka didn't work for me

unfortunately I was working with reflex silver on the wife's GTI, and matching a metallic without going the airbrush route is pretty hopeless.

Default 1. Your dealer is WRONG - BB is clear-coated. I have the Audi BB touchup paint that includes the...

clear coat. My paint code is LY9B, the touch-up set is code L 0Y9 B02.
