Questions about Porter Cable 7424...
1. I haven't used one before, is it easy to use and should I fear burning my paint?
2. Where can I get the best price?
Thanks.

I got mine for $ 110.00
at Lowe's. I bought my polishing pads at www.properautocare.com.
It is amazing how easy and with the right pads you do not need to worry about burn thru.

Yes it's easy to use
I just used one for the first time last weekend and it was a breeze to use.
You dont have to bear down on it, just let the machine do the work under it's own weight and you'll be fine. Just remember to keep it moving in a figure 8 pattern up and down then left to right or vice versa.
You may see the 7436 listed in leiu of the 7424, it is the same machine but with a heavier counter weight to help reduce vibration.
And I agree with Roy, that Lowes carrys them (neither store near me had them at the time) if you can't find Porter Cable, look for Delta.
