I invited volunteers to help put it together, but had almost no response.
Seattle Scott volunteered to do a couple products, and Matt (mcwindows) and I have exchanged some emails about it, but otherwise no one expressed any interest. I was a little surprised by that, considering that product availability and price shopping is a continuing subject on this forum.
I'm still willing to put such a chart together, or to help someone else do so. But if it's going to be reasonably comprehensive in both covering products and where they can be found, it's either a job for someone with lots of free time (more than I have, that's for sure), or several people working together. And of course it has to be updated by periodically checking the sites for price and product changes. If we had enough people doing it so that each person only had to cover, say, one manufacturer, I don't think it'd be much work except maybe for the person who puts it all together into a master chart. I started one (by hand; I don't have or know how to use a spreadsheet program), the draft of which can still be found at the link in my original post. I haven't updated it since that time.
One other thing not mentioned on that draft chart is the fact that autosupermart.com has a price guarantee -- BUT -- in order to take advantage of it, you have to know who is selling your product of choice more cheaply. In theory this means autosupermart will always have the lowest price, but you need to price shop in order to get it. Hmmmm...a price comparison chart sure would help with that.......

https://forums.audiworld.com/detail/msgs/6327.phtml</a
