Self service carwash prices
I finally found a self-serve carwash in my area (the only one, I think). They charge $4 for 5 minutes, which, upon first inspection, seems like an awful lot. I could be wrong because I never compared prices. Does this figure seem reasonable? Also, how long does it usually take to wash at a self-serve wash?

Wow, that's high. $1.25/5 min in Houston, TX.
For a quick wash, I do one 5 min round - fill up my bucket and rinse the car well, followed by a quick hand / bucket wash, then another 5 min round rinsing the car and then a quick no spot rinse.
So $2.50 for a quick wash, which is all I really do at those places.
