Silly question, but does a paint fade under 3m clear bra?

I like my car super clean so when everyone kept on asking what is that big scratch on your car's hood I just couldn't deal with it any longer and took it off. I do have 13k on the car it could have lasted longer but I just said the heck with it.
I still have it on my front bumper.

and the area under the clearbra (if removed) will be darker.
That's my assumption, anyway. I have to assume that the clearbra does some UV blocking and adds an extra level of paint protection.
On a car not well cared for, the difference with the clearbra removed would be substantial after 5 or so years.

There are a number of different materials in use under different brand names, but the bottom line is; your paint protection film should not be fading or turning yellow after such a short time. I have paint film on a 2000 TT and it looks as good as they day it was put on. I treat it as if it was a painted surface (Zaino regularly).

once we cleaned off the glue residue, i was not able to see a color difference between the two parts of the hood. the bra itself had yellowed a little bit though (but the new 3m materials being announced at sema will have noticeably reduced yellowing -- i have a pre-release version of this film on parts of my m3 and it's great!)
