so i just bought a new black and decker buffer....
and i was planning on using it where i debadged because you can still see where the letters were because of the paint fading a little...will i easily mess up the paint? its a black car...also, if i did that one spot, would i need to buff the whole car or would the paint match ok afterwards...its a random action buffer so it will hopefully eliminate swirl marks but i'm always a little nervous when it comes to messing with my paint (beyond waxing)

Start with a polish like Autoglym's Super Resin Polish to get that off, or Sonus SFX-2. IF those don't work use a rubbing compound. IF the rubbing compound works and should remember to use a finishing polish like Autoglyms or SFX-3 to smooth paint and restore shine. If not get out some sandpaper 1500 then 3000 then polish.
That buffers harmless. I suggest MF bayonetts and you can buy some cheap applicators @ sears. Can you use "pads" on that? man I hope so! You'll get better results.
