Default Tried drying with a leaf blower today & mothers fx synwax update

I used my leaf blower to help dry the car today, it made things so much easier, I wish I tried this in the past. I highly reccomend it. I didn't have to use the water blade, and only used one MF drying towel for the whole car. And after driving it, didnt have any water hiding that usually got all over the car!

I applied a coat of mothers FX synwax back in november, and it still looks great and beads up nice. Didn't want to wait for something to be delievered online so I picked this up at advance auto for $12 or so. Extremely salty up here and I went through an automatic car wash twice with it. I am very happy with it in this winter weather.

Default Is it just me, or does using a blower, just move water around on the car, and not actually blow off?

I don't know if it's the condition of my finish (ie wax), or what, but the last time I tried, the water just stuck to the car and moved around from one area to another. Is it suppose to actually blow off? Isn't it sticking due to surface tension? I mean I'm sure the fine droplets blow off, but anything more than that just seems to stick. I've got one of those Toro electric blowers...is it not powerful enough or something?

Default It didn't get it all off

But the car could use more wax so perhaps next time it will be better.

The biggest help was that it got the majority of the water off, and out of the crevices so I was able to use my MFDT more efficiently.

Default right. there will be a little bit left on various panels ...

which i then towel off. however, the key advantage is that water is not hiding in the crevices waiting to spew out when the car is driven.
