the Ultimate hose nozzle!!!

I just bought one of these from Home Depot for $19.95 and it rocks! It is one of those fire hose type nozzles, similar to the one Griot's sells for $76. It is made from extruded aluminum, forged stainless steel, high grade fiberglass and is heavily amoured with protective rubber. It adjusts infinitely from jet stream down to a soft/heavy cascading stream (perfect for that final water sheeting rinse). Plus, it has a two-way water shut of (one at each end of the adjustment rotation) and a lifetime warranty. No, this is not a commercial, I'm just a happy customer (and I think my A4 is excited about it, too)! The link below shows an almost identical nozzle made by the same company (Bonair Industries) but it is SS/brass and twice the price.

linky to similar nozzle

I bought my currect nozzle from Home Depot for less than $10. It's nothing fancy...just a good quality nozzle. I was there Friday evening looking for other stuff, and happened to poke through their current selection of hose accessories. Definitely good stuff to be had at very reasonable prices!

This is 5/8 by 50 for $25 on this site, but does give the features of the hose.
This stuff has a special fiber jacket on it that means it NEVER kinks, and flows almost at 100% all the time

http://www.usahardware.com/inet/shop/item/91800/icn/20-940619/teknor_apex/8610_50.htm</a

I currently have either a 75 or 100 foot hose for yard work, and it is a royal PITA for washing the car. It's way too long and kinks and twists like crazy. Home Depot also had the Fluidmotion hoses (Apex Teknor) so I bought a 50' 5/8" and it was $22. Not quite as good price as at Sams, but I surely did not want a 125 footer! I was not sure at the time if this was a good hose or not, but it looked and sounded like it was.
I did not wash the car with it yet, but I did try it out in the yard along with the new nozzle and it seems to work as advertized! There's something really satisfying about using well engineered and made tools, and this hose and nozzle sure fit the bill.

it definately is a brute. i ran it over once with no damage.
However, it is a pain to turn on and off.. It takes two or three turns to turn on to the gentle spray I like. I wish there was a way to get it to start at the spray mode and and as you turn it more it narrows to the stream...
In any event, I still use, so there's something to be said there...
