Ultimately I did use Soft Scrub to take the AquaPel off the glass: mark remains!.
it worked fine, took very little time to get it off.
Last night in my garage with the fluroescent overhead lights on I see the freaking crescent shaped gray mark is IN the glass right where it was prior to using AquaPel.
But it's on the passenger's side and not that noticeable unless you really look for it. I doubt if I will risk having the windshield replaced, but I WILL show the mark to the dealer for the record!
