Default Urgent A3 Paint Issue

My wife left the car outside overnight last week and our sprinkler system got the car. I've only just got around to washing the car today but I have found the rain drop marks left by the sprinkler system cannot easily be removed. Infact that sprinkler system is EVIL. My paint looks terrible and no amount of rubbing makes it better.

I've tried:
the usual wash with no joy
Meguires paint cleaner no joy
Meguires scratch x no joy
washing up liquid and then the above again no joy
I even tried clay and it wasn't that effective.

You can see in the picture what I am talking about. Any suggestions before I rub my arm away to nothing.

Cheers
Steve

Default hard water is a pain. i know some have had good luck with vinegar, but it's never worked for me

however, bleche-wite (available at many local auto-parts stores) *has* worked (spray on towel, wipe on affected area for a minute, hose off). the stuff is basically acid and is designed for tires, so you'll definitely want to try it in an inconspicuous location first and make sure there aren't any issues.

Yeah I just used some vinegar and it didn't work that well. I'll try bleche-wite though and see.

I would try to polish out the water spots before trying an acid.

yep, wash with a good shampoo, then use a PC w/ a decent polish.

Default I tried a polish and wash with shampoo

I did try the Meguires crystal system polish but I thought the cleaner would be more abrasive so it would more likely get it out.

Neither worked well.

What is a PC btw?

Default PC = Porter Cable Orbital Polisher

using a foam pad & a pro quality polish. some local auto body shops should have Meguiar's line of products. the OTC stuff that is sold at autozone, etc. won't and doesn't work too well.
