i'll wash the car.
i'll have two buckets of soapy water.
-one I use for claybar
-the other is for a mitt
i'll do a panel with clay and soapy water, then wash the panel with the mitt after.
i do a panel at a time, and rinse it off. try not to do it in direct sunlight. if you do get some water spots, they should come out during the polishing process.

I usually use really, really soapy water, like 4 times the regular amount of soap. I lather up the panel with the soapy water and mit, then go over it with the claybar, then rinse. Afterwards I dry the car, then go over it with detailers spray or finishing spray to clean up any clay residue. Wax afterwards is optional.
