What do you guys think of New Finish wax? the orange bottle you know
I have used it for a long time and wanted to see if there was something better available in Canada. TIA!

Crap!
Sorry, I'll admit, I'm probably a snob when it comes to the products I use on my car.
I used it when I was a teenager...I thought it was the best stuff on the planet. I've since learned otherwise. First and foremost, it contains fine abrasives which will scratch your paint (spiderwebs). Shine and durability are okay immediately after the waxing, but after the first rain or carwash, the car looked no better than it did before the wax. What I loved so much about it was how easy it was to buff off (compared to everything else I've used up to that point).
I've since tried carnauba waxes with a separate glaze/polish step, and finally zaino (with 3M Machine Glaze 2x per year). The machine glaze is a bit of a pain, but no more so than nufinish. Zaino is one of the easiest products I've ever used, and durability is far better than any product I have used.

Oh yeah, Nu Finish....you can definitely do better than that stuff.
I remember using it way back when...kinda like RKA, when I was a teenager. I haven't even considered buying it in years. Is that the one they advertise as "the once a year car wax"? I think maybe it was among the first of the acrylics. The shine is nothing great. It doesn't really last like they say it will. It's cheap and easy. But there are so many other, better products on the market, which will produce a much better result, there's no reason at all to use Nu Finish. IMO, of course.

Well, Consumer Reports liked the paste, rated the liquid lower. You can do better.
I have some Turtle wax, after using Grand Blitz and P21S carnuba waxes I can't beleive how crappy the Turtle wax is. I just never knew any better. I can use Turtle paste wax or Meguiar's cleaning wax and "brand new" it looks like my car when I need to re-wax it.

I have never seen zaino in Canada but I've seen Zymöl this weekend
It smell great and is the most expensive with Meguiar Gold wax or something like that... Thoses are the only 2 expensive wax I've seen, which one is the best?

If you stick with Nu Finish go to the paste. Shines better. Both liquid and paste only get a medium
rating for scratching and hazing so some 3M Imperial Hand Glaze is probably in your future.
I'd give P21S a try. It's a pretty easy paste wax to put on. Their website has a store locator that includes Canada.
You can always switch to something else later.
Generally speaking I'd say paste waxes are better than liquid waxes. The polymer scene (Zaino and company) all come as liquids as far as I know.
If you stay with paste waxes a Porter Cable 7424 (about $120 US) and about $80 US worth of pads, backing plate could be a nice gift to yourself.
If you do the random orbital buffer (Porter Cable 7424) some things come in either hand or machine applied versions. THe 7424 is pretty idiot proof, I got's one !!
Search the forum for Porter Cable, 7424, PC 7424.

Expensive doesn't necessarily mean better.
Both of the products you mentioned are probably pretty good, but so are One Grand Blitz wax, and P21S Concours Paste Wax (at $20-$25 per can). You can find either of those at www.carcareonline.com. If the paint needs a little freshening up prior to the waxing, also pick up a bottle of P21S paintwork cleanser. It will clean the paint and bring it up a level in terms of brightness and depth.
Zaino pretty much only available from the manufacturer (www.zainobros.com). They don't really sell very much through retail stores, so you won't really be able to find them in the US on a store shelf either.
If you've been happy with tradition carnauba waxes before, I would suggest you stick with them. The one's I recommended in the first paragraph will suit you well.

If the Zymol was greenish blue it's Zurtle wax, Zymol made in the Turtle wax factory. Zymol is
usually white. Now April told me Zymol looks good but but doesn't last very long. She uses 1 Grand Blitz once a month or at least used to.
I was happy with the 1 Grand until I tried P21S. I like it even more.
Go look around at www.autosupermart.com They have a pretty good selection of stuff to browse.
Plan on spending $200 US to get setup if your starting from nothing. Do you need stuff delivered to Canada ?
